Sangita Chatterjee is a dynamic and distinguished exponent of Kathak from the Lucknow Gharana, known for her lyrical grace, intricate rhythmic patterns, and profound abhinaya. 

A disciple of Guru Smt. Vaswati Misra, she was initiated into Kathak at a young age and has since honed her craft in the inimitable style of Lucknow Gharana – where elegance is the keynote and sensitivity the soul. Her artistic journey has been shaped by years of rigorous training under her Guru, absorbing the depth of Kathak’s storytelling and rhythmic complexities.

She continues her pursuit of knowledge, studying Taalvidya under Guru Pt. Divyang Vakil, delving deeper into the nuances of rhythm and percussion.

Holding a double M.A. in History & Tourism Management & Kathak from Khairagarh University, she blends her academic depth with artistic expression, bringing a nuanced perspective to her performances & choreographies. 

Her dance is not just an art form—it is a dialogue, a story, a lived experience. Sangita is also a motivational speaker and has been invited by many forums like Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, Josh Talks, workmob to talk on wellness through arts and women empowerment. 

She has also been a member of the advisory board of Kathak Kendra, which is an autonomous body of Sangeet Natak Academy till July 2024.

Two of her films got selected for screening at International Dance Film Festivals – Manifest Dance Film Festival 2022 & Inmotion Dance Film Festival 2022 and 2021 as well as BLR Hubba 2025.
